organizations based in Peterborough, Ontario. The YWCA of Peterborough,
Victoria and
Haliburton, The Peterborough Social Planning Council, Community Counselling
and Resource Centre and Axiom News Services. Representatives from
each organization form the editorial board.
The primary purpose of peacefulcommunities.ca
is to increase the support for volunteer-based organizations working
towards
violence prevention in the community and to enhance the community's approach
to violence prevention by sharing success stories, best practices
and
resources.

The Peterborough Social Planning Council
undertakes research, community development and public education to build
a stronger community. Areas of activity include public education, social
research, community development, social policy analysis, community partnerships
and resource development.

Community Counselling and Resource Centre
(CCRC) is a multi-service agency offering a range of services and resources
that strengthen individuals and the community. Formerly Family Counselling
Service &Volunteers and Information Peterborough (FCSVIP), CCRC has
been an important part of the community since 1956.
